What is a Base Map?
A base map is essentially an educated guess calibration file created specifically for your engine and modifications. It is designed to get the car started and running safely so it can be driven to a tuner or dyno for final calibration.
While we have extensive experience creating these files for various Honda/Acura setups, we cannot guarantee perfect accuracy without live tuning and data feedback. Because of this, base maps are not intended for regular driving beyond initial startup and light testing.
Important Notes
Can I drive my car with a base map?
You can use a base map to start your vehicle and perform initial checks, but it is not recommended to drive extensively or under heavy load until a tuner has reviewed and adjusted the calibration.
Can you adjust or refund my base map?
Base maps are non-refundable. Adjustments are generally not provided, as results depend on individual engine conditions and modifications. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
What happens after I get my base map?
Your calibration should be finalized by a professional tuner on the road or a dyno. This process involves collecting data (wideband oxygen, knock, etc.) to optimize performance and ensure reliability. In some cases, we can refer or arrange a remote tuning option.
